We are a collective of creatives based in San Rafael, California. A diverse group of painters, sculptors, photographers, mixed media, design and other creatives. We share walls - so it's generally a peaceful and quiet work space. A friendly, low-key, happy place for making art - with cafes and restaurants nearby! (We are located near the San Rafael Civic Center.) We typically open our doors two times a year, once in May for Marin Open Studios and once in December for a Holiday Open Studios. Community events depend on what the current artists choose to organize. There are currently three private art studios (starting around $400 per month) available at Mark Drive Studios. approx 100 sq/ft - $330.00 150 sq/ft - $468.00 750 sq/ft - $1850.00 (incredible natural light; outer door opens to a garden patio space) There are other sized spaces that occasionally come available; current tenants have first selection of any new vacancies. About the Property: The building was beautifully restored in 2005 to provide artist work spaces, with additional improvements made in 2018. Temperature controlled, housekeeping services for shared spaces including kitchen area. We abide by Marin Public Health safety guidelines re: facial coverings and social distancing. We are not a live/work space. There are bathrooms, mud rooms (for paint brush cleaning), a shared kitchen, a shared lobby space, a large parking lot, and a private bamboo garden with a fountain surrounded by mature succulents. The building owner pays for WiFi, garbage, and electricity. We have a lovely gardener as well as a cleaner for the interior common areas, the building is serviced/cleaned every 2 weeks.
