Job Summary A child care center located in Arlington, Virginia is seeking a full-time young toddler teacher (2-3) in the young toddler classroom. Responsibilities and Duties Key Responsibilities: To provide a warm, nurturing, and safe learning environment that encourages children to explore and grow. To plan and implement an intercultural curriculum that meets the social, physical and emotional needs of a child. To supervise, train and evaluate the Teacher's Assistant(s). To collaborate with Assistant and Teacher(s) on curriculum development. To direct the children and encourage them in their daily activities. To maintain good communication with parents, teacher assistants and Director. To promote positive behavior and good social skills with the children by applying consistent techniques in accordance with licensing standards To keep staff informed of program goals and developments. To develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the school. Qualifications and Skills Required: At least two years teaching experience in a licensed preschool or child care program Relevant education background: CDA, AA, BS/BA in ECE or a child related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, enthusiastic and committed Ability to record significant individual and group behavior. Evidence of emotional maturity and stability Ability to supervise teacher assistant(s) Must be a US citizen.
