PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man is facing charges after an early morning standoff with police on Canton Street, police said. Luis Roman, 31, was arrested after firing at police. During the standoff, Roman repeatedly shot at officers, police said, hitting a police cruiser several times. The standoff stemmed from a domestic call around 4:15 a.m., WPRI reported, and lasted several hours.
