Description

Press release from the City of Peoria: August 9, 2021 Intermittent lane closures can be expected in the upcoming Nebraska Avenue Corridor Upgrade project in the East Bluff starting this week. Motorists should begin watching out for lane restrictions at Wisconsin Avenue and heading westbound starting on Tuesday, August 10 at 7 a.m.      The moving lane closures are necessary as construction workers will begin to cut into roadway and sidewalks and remove existing pavement and infrastructure. Motorists and pedestrians should be on the lookout for construction workers, flaggers, and heavy equipment while moving through the area.     About the Project   Nebraska Avenue is an important east-west corridor through the City of Peoria. The portion of this roadway from Wisconsin Avenue to Prospect Road provides motorist and pedestrian access to the East Bluff neighborhood.      Improvements to the right-of-way infrastructure are being made to improve the quality of life for neighborhood residents. Proposed improvements include replacing deteriorated sidewalks and curbs, and upgrading ADA sidewalk ramps.    The project is expected to be complete by October 1, weather pending.  This press release was produced by City of Peoria.
