SWISSVALE, PA — A bartender's refusal to serve three patrons alcoholic drinks after the bar's closing time led to the deliberately set fire at D's Six Pax and Dogz, police said on Wednesday. Allegheny County Police on Wednesday provided details of the early Sunday morning blaze, which damaged the restaurant and resulted in several arson charges against Joseph Pepp, 28, of Crafton Heights. Pepp is being held in a West Virginia awaiting extradition to Pittsburgh after he was arrested in Wheeling Monday night by police conducting a drug investigation. Investigators determined that an argument occurred between the South Braddock Avenue establishment's bartender and the trio who were refused drinks after last call was given. In retaliation, one of them walked to the rear of the building and set a commercial recycling bin on fire. Surveillance video determined the fire was set by in someone matching Pepp's description. No injuries resulted from the fire, which caused $30,000 in damages. D's will be closed at least until next week, the eatery announced on Facebook.
