Description
LEMONT, IL — Outside watering remains prohibited as troubleshooting continues on Well 6 in Lemont. The Village said there is no estimated completion date at this time, but an update will be given after the village has more information from planned tests on Thursday.
According to the village, there are several components to the issue, which includes the motor, soft starting unit, a ComEd transformer and a Village transformer. Separate testing of each of these components will be done on Thursday, the village said.
The Village is hoping to come to a solution for these issues by the end of this week.
Well 6 first failed in June, and an outdoor watering ban has been in place since then. The capacity of the remaining wells can handle indoor water use, but the Village has asked residents to refrain from sprinkler use or spraying lawns, so water can be conserved.
