Campaign To Rename Land After Ann Croissant Gains Steam: Report

A group of environmentalists is pushing for local officials to rename a plot of land in the Angeles National Forest after late-preservationist Ann Croissant and her husband Gerald, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. The Bluebird Ranch Mountain Preserve is located within the San Gabriel Mountains and was purchased by Croissant and her husband as part of a preservation effort. Croissant died in June at the age of 81 and was the founder of the Glendora Community Conservancy. The conservancy is responsible for overseeing the preservation of more than 700 acres of land in the San Gabriel Mountains, of which Bluebird Ranch is a part, the Valley Tribune reported. An online petition started by Ricardo Montijo, a biologist, was started to get city officials to rename the preserve to the "Drs. Ann and Jerry Croissant Preserve."
