Press release from the City of Culver City: August 11, 2021 Culver City Symphony Orchestra presents Abriana Church's exploration of a wide range of Liszt's virtuosic piano works. The video also features a discussion with Frank Fetta, conductor and music director. This digital concert premiered on YouTube May 8, 2021. The varied program includes the six Paganini Etudes, Liszt's transcription of Schubert's "Der Müller und der Bach", and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12. Abriana was the winner in the Senior Division of the Orchestra's 2019 Parness Concerto Competition, impressing the judges with a performance of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2. Typically, as part of the prize, she would have performed the Concerto with the Orchestra during our 2020-21 season. Plans changed, and we look forward to featuring Abriana in a future concert.
