UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The rest of this week has high heat in the forecast, but temperatures should cool down by Thursday evening, in time for a free movie screening at John Jay Park.
The outdoor screening of "Bill & Ted Face the Music" will be held from 8–10:30 p.m. Thursday at the park, located along the FDR Drive at East 77th Street. (The movie itself will start around 8:30.)
It's sponsored by City Councilmember Ben Kallos and organized by the Parks Department, as part of the "Movies Under the Stars" series.
The film, released last year, is a science-fiction comedy and the third installment in the Bill & Ted series. Starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, it received positive reviews from critics and is rated PG-13.
No registration is required, and entry will be first-come, first-served. Families are invited to bring their own blankets.
Thursday's screening will be followed by another next week: "Wonder Woman 1984," which will be shown at St. Catherine's Park around 8:30 p.m.
