AQUEBOGUE, NY — With extreme temperatures expected Tuesday and Wednesday across Long Island, Riverhead Supervisor Yvette Aguiar said the town's senior center has been opened as a cooling center. The facility, located at 60 Shade Tree Lane in Aquebogue, will be open through 4:30 Wednesday and 9 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. Thursday so residents can beat the heat.
