Description

Glad the title caught your eye. I'm a drummer working with a guitarist (both conveniently located in Hollywood) on putting together a new project. We're interested in bringing in a vocalist as well as a second guitarist while we work on rounding out the material. A little insight: The guitarist and I have been going back and forth putting together some hard rock/heavy metal songs that are somewhere in the vein of AX7, Bring Me the Horizon, Deftones, Slipknot, etc you get the idea. Riff driven songs, some double kick, some melodic elements. We've both just come off of pretty committed projects and would ideally like to link up with other people who share the same ambition. We do a fair amount of stuff remotely so it helps if you're a self starter and can work on your parts without needing to get into a rehearsal studio every time. Here's some criteria we are looking for with this project. Vocalist: -You can sing. Sounds stupid but so do responses from people who clearly can't carry a tune or have no sense of melody. -You have some decent range. Our songs range from straight up heavy to slightly softer/melodic so some versatility is great. The occasional scream/growl goes a long way if you can do it well. -Stage presence/star quality/confidence. Got a big personality? Great, bring it to the show! -You can hang. You're cool. You don't bring a heft of drama and/or baggage to the table. You're reliable and communicate well. -You know a thing or two about basic recording and production, maybe you even have your own set up for recording your vocals. Things like this make it a lot easier for all of us to keep the ball rolling. 2nd Guitarist: -You have chops. Preferably you have experience playing in other bands that have 2 guitarists and can keep up. -You have gear. Should be a no-brainer. Reliable, gig-worthy equipment that you're comfortable taking out to play live with. -You have experience. You've been in other bands, gigged out a fair amount, know your way around the hard work that goes with this sort of thing. -If you have experience as a back up singer, even better! Not totally necessary though. Like the vocalist spot, a lot of the same things apply, we're looking for someone who's cool and genuinely interested in this and can hold their own. Our trajectory is to finish these songs and complete our lineup before moving into the stage rehearsal phase. A lockout is in consideration, given we find the right folks to commit to this. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, shoot me an email and I'll provide some demo clips to give you a better idea of the sound we're going for. Thanks for reading and happy hunting. ~T
