Happy Paws is a doggie daycare, overnight lodging, and positive reinforcement training facility located in Tenleytown, DC. We are seeking a hard-working and reliable individual to join our energetic staff as overnight dog attendant in a cage-free environment. We are fully committed to positive reinforcement training and we are seeking someone who shares our philosophy on the gentle treatment of animals. A desire for growth and learning about positive reinforcement training is a must. This position is labor-intensive but highly rewarding for pet lovers. Qualities that we are looking for: Punctuality (you MUST be on time for your shift) Patience (a necessity for working with animals) Initiative (ability to identify tasks that need to be done) Diligence (earnest effort to accomplish tasks) Positivity (lovers of dogs should be excited to work with them) Duties include: • Client interaction when dogs are leaving from their stay with us • Maintaining clean areas for pets (vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, sanitizing cages, etc.) • Pet care (walking, supervising, feeding, cuddling, and general engagement with the dogs) • Keeping track of medication times and administering medication when necessary We are looking for a full time employee with a flexible schedule. Your schedule will vary but will include some overnight shifts and some daytime shifts. Prior experience with dogs preferred. Starting salary depends on experience.
