Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) is a member-owned, cooperative corporation responsible for picking up and processing nearly 100% of all containers redeemed in Oregon. We collect from over 2,700 retailers and OBRC's BottleDrop Redemption Centers across the state, and recycle millions of containers a day. As a result of what we do, more than 138 million pounds of beverage containers stay out of our landfills each year, and we all enjoy a cleaner, greener Oregon. OBRC is a growing company looking for motivated individuals to join our team and help make Oregon's bottle bill a continued success. The Retail Service Specialist works independently to support designated sites by providing equipment maintenance, customer education, and green bag handling as needed. The Retail Service Specialist is responsible for delivering superior service to all retail partners in a safe and effective manner, while maintaining the appearance of the BottleDrop Express unit and surrounding area. Primary Duties & Responsibilities • Serve as liaison between retail partners, BottleDrop Express Techs, and Retail Relationship Coordinator • Service daily route of Bottle Drop Express locations at retail partners as needed • Communicate with retail partners, answering questions, providing education, and forwarding or escalating concerns to the appropriate person/department • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment at each location on route • Escalate repair/IT issues as necessary • Escalate customer concerns as necessary • Successfully resolve issues in a timely manner • Maintain the appearance of the BottleDrop Express units • Pick up and deliver green bags as needed • Occasionally travel statewide to other BDEs and DRCs locations as needed • Track and report daily activities per department protocol Education/Experience • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required • 1-2 years of mechanical, electrical, and/or maintenance experience preferred • Previous grocery retail experience preferred Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners • Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner, and give excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Basic electronic, mechanical, and maintenance skills and ability to safely use power tools • A current Class C driver's license and acceptable driving history is required • Ability to work multiple locations throughout the Portland Metro area and statewide as needed • Ability to work a weekend schedule Travel • Frequent local travel and occasional out of area travel Working Conditions/Physical Requirements • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for several hours a day • The ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift at ground and head level To apply online, click here:
