Southern Gentleman JK is a laid back kind of guy who enjoys leisurely strolls with his friends. He would love nothing more than to lay by your feet on the porch while you sip your sweet tea. Judging by his calm demeanor and the few extra pounds he's carrying, we bet he would make a perfect couch potato! Whether it's binge watching or napping, he'll be right by your side. He has shown some interest in toys but is content in just sitting with us and getting attention. He does well with other well behaved dogs but doesn't care too much for the crazy, in your face antics of the puppies. If you're looking for a companion who has outgrown the wild puppy stage, JK could be your man. We know there's someone out there looking to add this sweet soul to their family. An adoption counselor will be in contact with you following the submission of your application. If approved, they will arrange a meet and greet at one of our monthly trips to Chesapeake or at our shelter. Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, as we are a volunteer-run rescue organization. All PAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, and current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm. All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
