The CMAA Florida Chapter is excited to host the Rising CM Conference and our Student Competition with the University of Florida. CMAA’s mission is to promote the profession of construction management and the use of qualified construction managers on projects and programs. The Rising CM Conference is a one day event that will be held in person, at the University of Florida Rinker School of Construction Management, as well as virtually for those who cannot attend. This conference will host notable Construction Management companies who will present to the students attending on technology, innovation, career paths, major projects happening within the region, and more. We are happy to welcome our Keynotes speakers Cydney McGlothlin, University of Florida, and Justin Berry, Whiting-Turner. Student Competition The CMAA Florida 2021 Student Competition will provide an opportunity for students to compete for scholarships and guaranteed internships. This years competition is provided by Hillsborough County Aviation Authority’s as the Taxiway G Extension I Project. The competition has been created to promote careers in construction management, provide an environment to promote teamwork and collaboration within the industry, and showcase the knowledge of Construction Management, Cost Estimating, Scheduling, Proposal and Presentation skills. Scholarship AwardThe winning teams (1st , 2nd, 3rd ) will received a scholarship from CMAA as follows: 1st Place = $2000.00 ($500.00 for each student)2nd Place = $1000.00 ($250.00 for each student)3rd Place = $600.00 ($150.00 for each student)Internship OpportunitiesThe winning teams (1st , 2nd, 3rd ) will receive a guaranteed interview with one of our participating firms. Schedule August 16, 2021 – August 20, 2021  Team Development and Participation Notice Sent to CMAA August 21, 2021 – September 10, 2021  Teams develop Phase 1 (Parts 1 and 2) for submission on September 10, 2021 September 11, 2021 – September 14, 2021  SSEB Evaluation of Part 1 Submissions September 14, 2021  Short List of 3 teams announced moving to 2 nd Phase. September 15, 2021 – September 21, 2021  Development of Presentation September 22, 2021  Submission of the Presentation September 23, 2021 15-minute Oral Presentations to SSEB September 23, 2021 Winners announced a CM Rising Dinner.
