First Responders Day at the B&O honors those who answer the call and aims to educate the public about their lifesaving practices. First Responders Day will feature a bomb squad display, fire extinguisher demonstration, various police and firefighting equipment for visitors to see and learn about, and controlled collision & extraction demonstrations to highlight the importance of motorists yielding to trains at railroading crossings. Plus, Operation Lifesaver will be on-site to help educate visitors about railroad crossing safety. In acknowledgement of the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, visitors are also invited to join us for a special honor guard ceremony and moment of remembrance in the Roundhouse at 12:30 PM. All visitors, including B&O Members and First Responders, must reserve tickets in advance for train ride to controlled collision. Train ride ticket includes cost of regular Museum admission and is free for B&O Members and First Responders with valid ID.
