The Esplanade Association presents River Fit: Johara Boston, a class that teaches the basics of belly dance along with fun combinations. Join the Esplanade Association for River Fit: Johara Boston this summer, part of the River Fit Summer Fitness Series! From slow serpentine moves like figure eights, snake-arms, belly-rolls, and undulations to fast and fiery hip-locks and shimmies Johara will teach the basics of belly dance along with fun combinations. This class is for everyone who wants to get a light cardio workout and all over body toning as they explore the treasures of the east. River Fit: Johara Boston will take place on Wednesday, August 18th at 6pm on Fiedler Field. We recommend wearing comfortable work-out /yoga style clothes. Optional— bring a coin hip scarf or any scarf you can tie around the hips. Wear soft soled shoes or sneakers. Registration for River Fit: Johara Boston is only available through Eventbrite. Please cancel if you are no longer able to attend. By registering for River Fit: Johara Boston, you automatically sign the electronic waiver to participate in this River Fit Summer Fitness Series class. We strongly encourage non-vaccinated participants to wear a mask or face covering.The Esplanade Association will have hand sanitizer available on-site.Stay home if you feel sick and/or are part of a vulnerable population.About Johara Boston Johara has been a leading performer, instructor, choreographer, percussionist, and director of Snake Dance Theater Company for over 20 years. She has been sharing the art of belly dance in the New England area since 1997 and is known for her musicality, serpentine movements, fiery drum solos, and sensual veil-work. Learn more.
