In this class students can learn how to change a flat tire efficiently and effectively, including how to patch an innertube. This course will cover: Wheel removal (from bike). We will go over how to remove front and back wheels and how to handle fussy chains and brakes.Tire and inner-tube removal. We will go over some tips and tricks for tight tires and getting your inner-tube out smoothly.Inner-tube patching. This is the fun part! We will learn how to find the hole, discern if it is patch-able and then how to patch it. Safe tire-checking. We will talk about how to find whatever pesky object popped your tire without getting ourselves stabbed.Re-installation of the above. Now we put it all back together!Inflation (with both Presta and Schraeder valves). I'll show you how to figure out what PSI you should be inflating your tire to and how to deal with the different valve types.Masks required of all participants due to stage 4 COVID Yellow Bike Project is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been working since 1997 to reuse bicycles and to provide tools, workspace, and guidance for all.
