Good Old Blues Guitarist wanted
Meets
Fremont CA
Description
If you opened this up, thanks. You're good, or old, or hopefully both, so please read on. Here's the plan: an established band has matured, narrowed it's focus, and wants to play the Blues. Personnel: singing Blues Harp (retired), singing Blues Drummer (semi-retired), singing Blues bass (works F/T) And YOU, a skilled (hopefully gig experienced) blues guitarist that can play rhythm and lead guitar in a stripped down 4 piece band. The three of us are blues guys in temperament. We don't play strictly blues songs, but we play in a blues style. Generally, this really means we play with a quieter volume and softer attitude. It suits us. And it suits most smaller venues (where we like to play.) We also thrive on fairness. Everyone should have ownership of a fair share of the set list and/or lead vocals. We will determine how much time we need to fill for a gig, then we each will plan one fourth of that set list to facilitate keeping everyone involved and happy. We like playing out. We like getting paid. But you can't pay us enough to play if it isn't fun. If it is a fun gig for folks that appreciate good live blues, then any $$ is just a bonus. We like day gigs (no more 9-midnight!), outside if possible (no more dark holes that smell of stale wine or worse), and casual (we don't wear ties except at weddings and funerals). We want to play some good blues music and have some fun doing it. (Note: Our objective is to secure one regular monthly weekend gig that pays well so that we can afford to play some less lucrative local gigs just because they are fun.) We are looking for a very specific guy: OLD (shall we suggest 50+ but we won't exclude you if you're only a 49 yr old whippersnapper) TALENTED (see above) AVAILABLE (one weekday evening or weekend day per week for practice OR gig) LOVES THE BLUES (again, see above) If this is you, please reply and let's get together. You know, "Every day is a Bluesday somewhere". Key words, Guitar, guitarist, blues, band, wanted
