Join Morna Strengholt, to paint this beautiful floral painting and learn composition, color mixing, washes, textures and negative spaces In this two hour workshop you will learn to paint an 11"x14" floral watercolor with Morna Strengholt, Watercolor Artist. She will guide you through using pencil in composition, applying layers of paint, mixing and overlaying color in background, creating positive image with negative spaces. You will learn techniques for applying wet on dry paper, contrasting values with washes, and create textures utilizing salt, instant coffee and alcohol. Your 11"x14" painting will be completed at the end of of the workshop for you to take home and display! Morna has created this workshop suitable for beginners through advanced learners. All supplies are included. A materials fee of $5.00 is payable in cash to the instructor at the time of class for use of her supplies. Supplies needed: 11x 14 or larger watercolor paper, 150 lb to 300 lb paper watercolor paint: Alizarin crimson, medium red, yellow light, yellow medium, ultramarine blue, Prussian blue; Brushes #2 #4 #10, flat or round; Pencil Feel free to bring your own favorite paper, paints and brushes if desired. Morna began painting in oils at age nineand watercolor painting at 14. She has taken private lessons, majored in drawing and painting at Sull Ross state College, Texas Tech University, North Texas State University, Art Center College of Design in LA, California. Morna taught private classes and as well as public school, with Grand Rapids Public Schools, MI. Artisans is an artist co-op in downtown Mount Dora, Florida. We specialize in handcrafted artwork of all kinds. Within our gallery there is a small classroom in which we are offering a variety of classes that are fun and addicting. You will always be able to take home something you created in class. The classes are relaxing and intimate. Please arrive 10 minutes before the class starts. Downtown parking lots are within walking distance. Feel free to bring a non-alcoholic beverage.
