Seattle Yacht Club is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist in maintaining efficient-high quality operations, upkeep of the property facilities and assistance in resolving maintenance related issues. Founded in 1892, Seattle Yacht Club is one of our country’s most active and long-established yacht clubs. With facilities ranging from the historic Mainstation on Portage Bay, to ten outstations located along the shores of Washington and British Columbia. While the history of the club is tied to the tradition of pleasure boating and yachting, the Mainstation is a vital social center for club members and their guests. Members enjoy formal dining in the Ward Room and a very active casual dining area in the Marine Room, as well as banquets throughout the Mainstation property. The club is open for food and beverage services seven days a week. General Description: Support person to work as a member of SYC’s Maintenance Team in various capacities including but not limited to: event set-up, tent set-up and breakdown, building maintenance, parking, marina, moorage and other duties as assigned. Ideal candidate will need to have: A valid Washington State driver’s license with a good driving record. Able to be on his/her feet for long periods of time Able to bend, stoop and kneel in the performance of maintenance duties Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds Good communication skills—able to follow directions Customer service oriented Good problem-solving skills Basic mechanical, plumbing and electrical skills desirable Familiar with boats and docks Familiar with audio/visual equipment set-up and operation Carpentry and “handyman” skills a plus Familiar with Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and Microsoft Office 365 This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule and hours, excellent benefits and competitive wage. Hours may include weekends, swing and night shifts. This opening is for predominantly swing shift.
