Description
Symphony of the Americas is celebrating our 34th Concert Season. The Symphony of the Americas Chamber Orchestra will feature the following artists this summer: David Pedraza, Viola performing the Concerto for Viola and Strings by Telemann Aziz Sapaev, Cello performing the Swan from The Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens Valentin Mansurov, Violin performing Concerto for Violin in a minor (3ed Movement) by J. S. Bach Other compositions on the program will include works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Mascagni and Bizet among others. David Pedraza, Viola Violist, born in Reynosa, Mexico, David started his musical studies at 14 in the OCJM under Jose Vazquez. Later on he received a full scholarship to study the Bachelor of Music at Shenandoah Conservatory. From 2003 to 2005 he was part of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas under Placido Domingo, Carlos Prieto and Gustavo Dudamel. David holds a Professional Performance Certificate from Lynn University Conservatory of Music and recently he finished his Master of Music at the same institution with an award of full scholarship. He won the First Prize with Vitali String Quartet at the 2004 MTNA Virginia chamber music competition and also has received honorific mentions in 2005 and 2007 from the MTNA Viola competition in Florida. He has participated in master classes of Carol Rodland, Jeffrey Irvine, Roberto Diaz, Kim Kashkashian, Peter Slowik, Orlando Cole, Arnold Steinhardt, Ellen Rose Basil Vendryes and Wilfried Strehle. Recently he performed the Bartok Viola Concerto with the Orquesta Sinfonica de la UAT. David has performed in countries like: Mexico, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Spain, France, Switzerland and the UK. His main teacher was Ralph Fielding. Currently he is part of the Con Brio Quartet, and Principal Viola with Symphony of the Americas Valentin Mansurov, Violin Valentin Mansurov, prize winner of competitions in former U.S.S.R, Canada, and the United States, has been actively performing in solo recitals, chamber music concerts in Europe, North and South America. Valentin started his violin studies as a seven year old at Uspenskiy’s School for Musically Gifted Children in Uzbekistan. Valentin has pursued further college degrees in Turkey, France, Canada, and the United States. Mr. Mansurov has been performing locally and internationally as a member of ensembles such as the Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Symphony, and Symphony of the America’s. In 2015, Mr. Mansurov became a member of the critically acclaimed Delray String Quartet performing in concerts nationwide. ***Program subject to chage Miami Lakes is known as one of the most beautiful residential areas in South Florida for its tree lined streets, large estate lots, and extremely low crime rates.
