Learn to make a jointed wooden fish (or other animal, person, creature, cryptid)! 3-Hour Workshop Date: Saturday, October 16, 2021 Time: 10am-1pm Description: Learn to make a jointed wooden fish (or other animal, person, creature, cryptid) under the watchful and humorous guidance of puppeteer, sculptor, teacher Dave English. You will learn how to draw, cut, sand, assemble and paint an original kinetic (moving) sculpture that will grace some important spot in your life. Perhaps you will decorate a mantle, adorn a shelf, or place it as a center piece on the credenza in your boathouse? That is your call because it is going to be your creation. Tuition: $55 + $20 materials fee Materials: All materials will be provided Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) COVID-19: In accordance with current CDC guidance - we are recommending all visitors wear a mask. Please note that the recommendation applies to teaching artists, resident artists, students and guests attending events taking place at CC. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks. About the Artist Dave English is a puppeteer, artist educator, and facilitator of cultural affairs at large. He has a BFA in Puppetry from West VirginiaUniversity and is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. Dave worked at the Andy Warhol Museum, The Sprout Fund, The Greater Pittsburgh ArtsCouncil and has provided arts programming for cultural organizations across the country as artist, teacher, performer, administrator.
