Apparently its wrong for Musicians to have any standards re: gigs. No matter their level or experience, musicians should just be glad to take any table scraps they can get. Its obvious whoever wrote that post is not a pro, but a hobby band guy, who has a day job. I would ask, if you had 20+ years of professional experience in your field, would you take a job at entry level pay and job duties?
Some of us are vocational musicians. THIS is what we do, because we are GOOD at it. At first, we paid our dues and played the crappy late night, low paid dive bar gigs. But now we are beyond that. Why does that bother you?
If you are fine with playing Bubba's smoke choked, biker dive till 2am for $50.00, which then leaves your clothes and your car stinking like a stale ashtray for the next few weeks, more power to you. But don't hate on those of us who have no interest in such gigs!
