Building Resiliency Against Traumatic Stress, Compassion Fatigue, and Burnout for First Responders Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue, Corrections Officers and 911 Operators join Orange County as we present Building Resiliency Against Traumatic Stress, Compassion Fatigue, and Burnout for First Responders. Almost every day, you are the first on the scene during an emergency or traumatic event. These sessions will provide you with practical tools to prepare and respond to critical incidents. Speakers include: Best selling author Nic Sheff will speak to the hope of recovery and how first responders can keep hope alive when responding to overdoses. His struggle with addiction is depicted in the film Beautiful Boy produced by Brad Pitt starring Timothée Chalamet as Nic and Steve Carell as his father, David. The film is based on Nic’s bestselling memoir, Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines. Thomas Gillan is a Certified Law Enforcement Trainer and Criminal Justice/ Public Safety Instructor. His clients include the Florida Sheriff’s Association, the Florida Attorney General’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Florida Department of Corrections, the FBI National Academy, and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
