OCEAN CITY, MD — The U.S. Coast Guard said it rescued two jetskiers who fell into the water at the Ocean City inlet on Monday. A passerby saved the third person, officials noted.
Leaders mentioned the riders lost control of their jet ski before falling in. Nobody was hurt, a press release added.
A caller reported the fall on VHF radio channel 16, the Coast Guard explained. The watchstanders informed they diverted a 24-foot boat to help alongside a crew from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police.
"We were already underway at the time and were able to get on scene pretty quickly," stated Petty Officer 2nd Class Connor Barelli, coxswain of the responding small boat. "They were drifting close to the jetties, so I'm glad we got there when we did. Part of our success today was training, part was luck and part was everyone involved having life jackets on."
