DENVER, CO — Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems has filed lawsuits against Newsmax and One America News, accusing the conservative media networks of defaming the company through false claims about the 2020 presidential election. In each of the three lawsuits filed Monday, Dominion is seeking more than $1.6 billion in damages, citing lost profits and other harms, according to a report by Reuters. The lawsuits are among several filed by Dominion after allies of Donald Trump claimed the 2020 election was "rigged" against the former president. Dominion has filed similar suits against Patrick Byrne, the former chief executive of online retailer Overstock.com, Fox News, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, and Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.
