Handy Man needed for an Art Gallery and Artist Studios in downtown Sarasota, FL, for many assorted odd jobs. The SPAACES Foundation is looking for someone to build small dividing walls for art studios, and to paint high ceilings and more. SCAFFOLDING: Applicant must do repair work using scaffolding for 20 foot tall ceilings. Must be comfortable with heights and using scaffolding for lighting and ceiling repairs. Takes Scaffolding up and down monthly between art shows. The Handyman must have relevant building maintenance skills including, plumbing, electrical, as well as minor plaster and painting. Responsibilities include general maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness to ensure the facilities and equipment in the building are in good working order at all times. Must be comfortable working with saws and other tools for lumber jobs, small electrical and plumbing repairs, painting with a paint sprayer, and other odd jobs. It is helpful to: Have ability to think outside the box and trouble shoot maintenance problems, to be familiar with Mini-Split Air Conditioners, Have and bring basic hand tools, Have dependable transportation to and from work, Have a strong work ethic with reliability and dependability, Enjoy working with others and taking direction when needed, Exterior/ Interior painting and caulking, light drywall repair.
