The COVID Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region on Monday announced its latest round of pandemic recovery funding.
Nearly $350,000 was awarded to ten agencies in the latest round of funding.
In a release, the organization announced that the largest grant in this round was to Community One for a program to help with roof replacements and repairs for people impacted by the pandemic.
In addition, Junior Achievement and Southern Indiana Mentoring Academy were awarded grants to help pay for a Learning Loss Coordinator at Junior Achievement and for family engagement programs and mentor recruitment at SIMA 100.
Applications for the COVID response fund will be accepted until Augusst 17th. As we reported earlier on WNIN, final disbursements will be made in September.
The COVID 19 Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region has paid out $5.3 million in emergency relief funding to 114 non-profit agencies in in a five county area of Southwestern Indiana.
The COVID-19 delta variant accounts for more than 80 percent of sampled positive cases in Indiana. State health officials have pointed to the variant as the main driver of Indiana's recent climb in new cases and hospitalizations.
