Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: Elk Grove police are asking for your help in locating a 78-year-old at-risk individual. Police identified the man as Kiflit Ghenremariam who was last seen at his home at 10:30 AM on Tuesday. He is considered at-risk due to a medical condition. Ghenremariam is described as 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds. If you have any information you are asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Dispatch Center at 916-714-5115. (ABC10)A big rig crashed and caught fire Monday afternoon near the American River Bridge and Discovery Park. Traffic was backed up all the way to the airport for hours. I'm sure glad I wasn't coming in from a 10-hour flight only to find a 5-hour commute home! (KCRA3) A plaque honoring a Folsom mother's late son was stolen, but her memories and the love of the people that helped her through were not and she's grateful for that. Cindy Bohart placed a plaque at the site of her late son Josh's single car accident that happened in 2019. She checked it regularly, until August 9th, when the plaque was stolen. But, she said, while she is heartbroken there are some "silver linings." The person responding to her police report was the same policeman that was the first to respond to her son's crash. She was able to thank him for his caring in the aftermath of the tragedy. Her attitude is truly uplifting. (ABC10)Sacramento Fire responded to a residential structure fire at a home between 25th Street and 57th Avenue in South Sacramento. The homeowners were home at the time and made it out safely, but were concerned about the family dog, Cookie. Watch as Captain Watt walks out of the residence with Cookie in hand and reunites the dog with the homeowner. (Facebook)A Folsom doctor is preparing to run a 100K (yeah, that's not a typo. He's going to run 100 kilometers!) to help young women and babies in need. He'll be running the Castle Peak 100K in Truckee this weekend, raising funds and awareness for The Sacramento Life Center. Dr. Timothy Phelan, has been delivering babies in Folsom for the last 25 years, and he says the pandemic has really taken its toll. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), along with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), will hold an online outreach meeting Thursday, Aug. 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., for licensed hunters to provide comments and recommendations regarding public hunting programs in the Sacramento Valley.
