NASHUA, NH — A Queen City man was arrested on Monday accused of a shooting in Nashua on July 18.
Sebastian Tavarez, 23, of Beech Street in Manchester was arrested around 3 a.m. on Monday on first-degree assault-firearm and reckless conduct charges, both felonies. Back in July, police were sent to a Gate City home for a report of a shooting, according to Sgt. Nicole Hannigan of the department's criminal investigation division. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
"Detectives of the criminal investigation division furthered the investigation and determined that Tavarez was responsible for the shooting," Hannigan said.
Tavarez was arrested on a first-degree assault warrant. A reckless conduct charge was also added to his docket at the time of the arrest. He faces up to 22 years in prison as well as fines. Tavarez was held without bail and is expected to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Tuesday.
