CONCORD, NH — Corrections officials in New Hampshire are asking for the public's help finding a walkaway convict who was placed on "escape" status on Tuesday.
Michael Wells, a convicted robber, signed out of his Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester at just before 9 a.m. on Monday. He was slated to walk to work and return by 10:30 p.m. As of 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, he failed to return and was placed on escape status, according to Tina Thurber of the department.
Wells is 55, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and weighs around 150 pounds. He has hazel eyes and blonde-strawberry blonde hair with a mustache and goatee. Wells also has tattoos on both forearms. He was last seen wearing dark-colored jeans, a navy blue T-shirt, a green hat, and white sneakers.
Wells was due to be paroled sometime after June 2022.
Anyone with information on Wells' whereabouts should contact Investigator Jay Darrah of the NHDOC Investigations Bureau at 603-271-4416.
