PITTSBURGH, PA — A man was struck and killed by a train early Tuesday in the city's South Side.
Pittsburgh police, fire and EMS personnel responded to a report from a CSX conductor that a person on the tracks was struck by one of its trains shortly before 2:30 a.m.
A male victim was found underneath a train car in the 1100 block of Muriel Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Train traffic was halted in both directions while crime scene unit detectives processed the scene.
The victim's name has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
