PHILADELPHIA — A former security guard for SEPTA has been charged with assault and related crimes in connection with an attack on a passenger that was caught on camera.
Dashaun Young, 26, of Eddington, was charged Monday with aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
The charges stem from a July 27 incident at the Arrott Transportation Center in Frankford.
Young, who worked for a security contractor that SEPTA hired, punched a 51-year-old passenger at the center, knocking the passenger to the ground, security video shows.
According to FOX 29, Young fled the area before police showed up.
Fox reports the victim did not remember anything about the incident.
Young is still in custody and is awaiting his bail hearing, which is scheduled for Aug. 13.
His bail is currently listed at 10 percent of $200,000 court records show.
