JOLIET, IL — A 31-year-old Joliet man has not been taken into custody in connection with felony home invasion charges filed July 29 by the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow. Judge Vincent Cornelius has set bail at $1 million for Charles P. Span, a resident of the 800 block of Second Avenue, according to court records. Span's criminal complaint, submitted by Joliet Police Detective James Kilgore, states that on July 28 Span invaded a woman's house in the 100 block of Meda Avenue in Joliet and injured a man staying at the dwelling. Span has also been charged with criminal trespass to a residence. Meda Avenue is on Joliet's east side between Miller and Wilson Avenues, not far from Second Avenue. The bench warrant for Span's arrest indicates that he stands 5-foot-8 and weighs 165 lbs.
