JOLIET, IL — A 41-year-old Joliet man may be parting ways with his 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 truck following his arrest in late June on charges of aggravated driving while license revoked, according to a new civil forfeiture case from Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow.
Court records indicate it's the 13th revoked driving offense for Charles B. Donahue, who lives in the 100 block of East Jefferson St.
Donahue was also charged with unlawful possession of controlled substances, stemming from his June 29 arrest by Joliet police. Court records indicate Donahue had Fentanyl in his possession at the time.
Last week, Glasgow's staff filed a civil forfeiture case against Donahue, in hopes of taking away his Dodge Ram truck. A court hearing is set for Sept. 8.
According to the civil forfeiture, two Joliet police officers patrolling Collins Street on the night of June 29 saw the Dodge Ram heading southbound without any taillights and headlights on.
The truck veered across its lane and went into the northbound lane in the 400 block of Collins Street, prompting the Joliet officers to pull over the driver, court records show.
Donahue identified himself to the officers and they "viewed an open pint bottle of Southern Comfort brand whiskey on the center console of the vehicle," the forfeiture states. The officers put Donahue under his arrest after learning that his license had been revoked for multiple previous driving while under the influence charges, court records show.
The June 29 arrest marks Donahue's 13th violation of driving while revoked or suspended, his latest charges show.
