BURR RIDGE, IL – A domestic dispute on the side of the road prompted a call to Burr Ridge police late last month. About 8 p.m. July 24, a couple had gone to dinner in Aurora and were returning home when the woman saw texts on the man's phone – from another woman, according to a police report obtained through a public records request. So the man, who was driving, pulled over from Interstate 55 to County Line Road. He told police he wanted to get the matter resolved soon because the woman thought he was cheating on her, police said. When they stopped, they were "standing face to face and moving somewhat animatedly," the report said. A passing driver called police. The couple told police nothing physical occurred. They said they were comfortable being around each other. In speaking with the couple, an officer noticed the man had a "very moderate" odor of alcohol on the man's breath, the report said. The man said he had a couple of beers at dinner. The man agreed to take a preliminary breath test, and it showed his blood-alcohol content was .09 – over the state limit of .08, according to the report. The police did not witness the man driving. An officer moved the man's pickup truck farther onto the shoulder, and the couple took an Uber home, police said.
