CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in Cleveland Heights on Monday evening, police announced.
The boy was inside a home on Woodview Road when at least two gunshots were fired into the back of the house. Callers reported hearing the gunshots at approximately 6 p.m.
When officers arrived, they gave the 13-year-old first aid, but he died inside the house, Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said. On Tuesday morning, the boy was identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner as London Hill, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
"Our condolences go out to the family of the victim," she said in a message to the community.
Investigators said no suspects were seen during the shooting. Police believe the shooter fired from a backyard at least three houses away.
"We are requesting anyone with information to contact the Cleveland Heights Police Department at 216-321-1234," Mecklenburg said.
