We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to work out of our headquarters in Santa Barbara on a full time 37.5-hour per week basis. Summary This position will assist and/or work independently on tasks assigned within the operations and maintenance of FGU facilities. Work will be primarily assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, and the Facilities Maintenance Worker I may perform following functions: semi-skilled maintenance tasks related to a variety of trades including plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, roofing and grounds keeping. This position is 37.5 hours per week 5 days per week. Occasional weekend or after regular hours work may be requested for events such as graduations, sessions, and/or other special events, and this position is required to be available for the emergency call list. QUALIFICATIONS High School Graduate preferred. Minimum three years’ work experience in general facilities maintenance areas. Knowledge, skills and abilities: (Level of knowledge, measurable skills and talents) • Ability and willingness to take direction • Basic communication skills include voice mail, fax and e-mail • Basic computer skills in email, Word and Excel • Ability to enter safety codes to secure Fielding buildings • Ability to read, speak, and understand English Special skills and training: (Special requirements unique to this position) • Knowledge of skilled maintenance methods • Skilled in use of hand and power tools • Knowledge of working procedures in preventive maintenance of facilities Tools and equipment: • PC, printer, copier, scanner/fax machine • Valid California Class C driver's license Application Instructions Fielding Graduate University utilizes ADP Workforce Now for online applications.
