Sunflower Farm FarmHand Job Description Sunflower Farm is looking for a full-time Farm Hand, with possible weekend hours from time to time. Sunflower Farm’s Mission Statement is: To cultivate an appreciation for farming, nature and our sustainable future by providing a place of mindful education and memories through daily farm routines, experiential play, family time together and stillness. This candidate should be hard working, enjoy being outside in all weather and able to work independently. This person will be responsible for the following tasks and expectations, but not limited to: • Must love being outside in hot, cold, snowy, wet weather, limited time will be spent indoors. • Take care of maintenance issues & repairs of all buildings and farm and animals stalls. • Disinfecting outdoor tables and high touch surfaces and play equipment around the farm and blowing walkways. • Basic care for animals, helping vet, animal relocation, taking to action as needed. • Do hay runs as necessary • Continually monitor farm and animals for issues, and be pro-active when you see something needs to happen. • Assist and prepare with bigger seasonal farm projects, such as preparing garden beds, preparing for music events, shoveling snow, running bobcat or tractor experience, mucking stalls, picking up animal waste, building fences, wasps and pest eradication. • Assist with landscaping and mowing, (may hire someone else for this) • Completing construction projects as needed Relevant Experience/Qaulifications: -Farm experience -Construction Experience -Gardening/landscaping experience -Animal care experience -Ability to drive Bobcat/Tractor and other heavy machinery -Be able to lift 50 pounds. -Must go for a Criminal background check and have a clean record -Have reliable transportation.
