Remote Trips Manager and Whitewater Guide

Lead and guide weekend multi-days trips to remote whitewater rivers in NC, TN and WV. You are in charge of the trip from start to finish including driving from our shop in Lillington to the rivers of choice, guiding on whitewater rivers, set up camps, cook camp meals, accommodate guests throughout trips, leading hikes, sightseeing, and providing other recreational activities. Responsibilities include: - Design and organize 3-day trips for weekend getaways - Research and make arrangements for permits and camping accommodations as needed - Guide on rivers with up to class IV rapids in a raft, kayaks or canoes (vessel choice depends on venue) - Set up camps - Cook camp meals - Ensure customer safety and comfort level at every activity - Lead hikes or other recreational activities - Train and educate participant as needed - Perform other responsibilities as needed Skills: - Proven outdoors man or woman - Over 40 commercial whitewater trips on rivers class III or above - Trip leading skills (NOLS certifications or similar is a huge plus) - Superior communication and leadership skills - Excellent verbal, written and public speaking skills are a must - Highly organized, with ability to prioritize and delegate - Must be a team player, willing to learn and develop themselves and others - Must be in excellent physical shape and able to spend long hours outdoors Compensation and benefits: - Great place to work! - 401k with employer matching - Free kayak/canoe rental - Retail store discounts - Paid team outings and cookouts - Company sponsored Employee End of Season Trip (EOST) - Pay is based on experience Apply with you resume, cover letter, and pay expectations by
