Oak-Leyden Developmental Services helps people with developmental disabilities meet life‘s challenges and reach their highest potential. We are currently seeking a Temporary Maintenance worker for approximately 6 weeks. (End date to be determined based on organizational need). This position will assist with all maintenance needs for our 15 properties in and around Oak Park, IL. * Familiarity with diagnosing and repairing carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC problems. * Ability to recognize and report environmental safety hazards to the maintenance supervisor. * Valid Illinois driver’s license, insurability under Oak-Leyden’s vehicle insurance, and willingness to drive. * Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work; landscaping and maintenance; EPA & OSHA related safety codes and practices. * Ability to lift heavy furniture properly to avoid injury or self-and/or others. * Ability to work as alone or as a member of a team; and willingness to work around individuals with developmental disabilities. * Must be able to pass background checks, drug test and physical.
