CARPENTERS HELPER Job Summary: The Construction Carpenters Helper will assist with building, erecting, installing, and repairing forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects at the direction of carpenters and superintendents. Supervisory Responsibilities: • None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Assist supervisors in various areas of construction as needed. • Install various building materials as per instructions from supervisors. • Build or repair structures. • Construct, erect, or repair wooden frameworks or structures. • Cut, shape, fit, or join wood or other construction materials. • Erect scaffolding. • Adhere to safety procedures. • Use measuring devices, hand, or power tools. • Move or lift heavy building materials. • Keep work areas clean at all times. • Prepare building surfaces for paint, finishes, wallpaper, or adhesives. • All work will be at the direction of carpenters and/or superintendents Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints. • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade. • Works well as part of a team. Education and Experience: • Previous construction experience preferred. • Bilingual is a plus. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment. • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination. • Pay will be based on experience.
