Join us for an evening of food and fellowship and help us honor local community members and the Victim Assistance Program of Summit County We are an Akron-based nonprofit serving Northern Ohio families who need assistance with honoring their loved ones who have passed away. We have helped many families with burial and funeral related expenses, and with your help, we can continue to support the area. Keynote Speaker: Judge Susan Baker Ross will share her personal story of Recovery Celebration of Life Award Recipients: Manuel Halkias, Co-Founder of The Final Farewell Project and Educator, Canton City Schools Victims Assistance Program of Summit County Special Honorees: Casey Weinstein, House Rep Dist. 37, Magistrate Kani Hightower, Akron Municipal Court Holly Klein, President, Grace House Akron, Inc. Our mission is to help families in the wake of the death of a loved one with resources for final expenses. Many families are unable to manage the financial responsibilities of memorials, funeral, burial and other expenses associated with final arrangements. It is our hope to ease the stress that many families experience at this time. We also hope to assist provide assistance for individuals who have no family to take on the responsibility and have no resources. Families and individuals come to us through agency, faith communities, community organizations or friends of the deceased. It is our goal that nobody leaves this life forgotten or without the dignity deserved by each of us regardless of social or financial status or circumstances of death.
