Description

Botany Basics for Houseplant Enthusiasts In this interactive class, we will learn about the anatomy, physiology, and evolution of plants and demonstrate how that knowledge can help you be a more successful plant parent. Photosynthesis, the parts of plants, adaptations, and light/water relations will be put in context using common and rare houseplants as examples. Feel free to bring a notebook and writing utensil to take notes and a phone or camera for photos. I will have lots of amazing plants to show as examples, as well as a microscope with slides. Each participant will go home with a new plant and a small info booklet. This event will take place in the upstairs Event Hall of the Wolverine Farm Publick House in Fort Collins. Food and drink are available to purchase downstairs in the café. Having a better understanding of how plants function will give you the tools to help them thrive. The satisfaction of happy plants simply cannot be beat. This class will be taught by Nika Linn of Chez Flora Houseplant Co.
