Pasadena, TX trucking company has immediate opening for tractor/trailer and diesel mechanic... Ideal candidate must:
· Must be a self-starter with a strong ability to manage time wisely and work with limited Supervision,
· Log in and out of repair orders in a computerized shop management system to include job codes, Complaint, Cause, and Correction for each repair
· Ability to properly maintain a parts inventory and accurately order, receive, and charge out parts. Previous diesel engine, tractor and/or trailer mechanic experience.
· Perform tractor and trailer PM services as required by DOT 49 CFR 396.
· Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications on both tractors and trailers.
· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations.
· Operate class 8 vehicles in yard conditions, move fleet equipment safely around yard and into and out of service facility.
· Performs service calls for emergency repairs
Salary will be based on experience and job responsibilities.
Requirement’s:
Be 18 years or older
Have a valid Driver License (Class A CDL preferred)
Be a HS Grad or Equivalent (Tech school grad preferred)
Have a minimum three years Class 8 mechanic experience
Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
Have own tools
ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification (Preferred)
A/C Recovery (Preferred)
Computer Experience a plus
Management experience a plus
