The Company: Since 1996, Jan's Pet Sitting has been performing award-winning dog walking and pet sitting services. We have placed a strong emphasis on providing all employees with a safe, positive working environment. Most of the work you will perform will be caring for cats. Any dog walks you will be doing are private, on-leash walks. We do not go to dog parks and we do not do group walks. This is a part-time, but permanent position. This is an ideal position for someone looking for supplemental income and someone who likes a flexible schedule. The Position: • Professional cat sitter with the ability to also work as a dog walker Compensation: • $16.50 to $17 per hour plus tips and bonuses and mileage reimbursement The responsibilities: • Provide detailed and attentive care for our client's fur family • Give our clients extraordinary customer service • Timely communication with staff via phone/text • Contribute to the team effort by working as a team player • Practice time management to ensure on-time arrivals for all assigned visits • Travel from client to client in the Redwood City/San Mateo area using your own vehicle The ideal candidate: • An enthusiastic candidate, who can provide our clients’ animals with the highest quality care possible! • The candidate should have strong attention to detail and time management. • Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred but a positive attitude with a desire to learn is just as important. • This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career or grow their current professional experience with animals. The requirements: • We have openings for all days of the week - Sunday through Saturday. We have openings for mornings/afternoons and mid afternoon/early evenings. • On average you could be working 2 to 5 hours a day; depending on client bookings. • This position requires availability the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas (you will still have time to spend with your family). As pet sitters, holiday availability is critical. Major holidays and weekends represent peaks of demand for pet sitting services. • You are capable of working with little supervision • You have the patience and empathy to work with all animals including animals that may have medical needs.
