Description
A fashion event highlighting the art of fashion and design while simultaneously blending music, culinary, and signature cocktails. The Haute Asiko fashion event is curated by Davita Galloway, co-founder and owner of DUPP&SWAT, and will feature a range of local designers from very diverse aesthetics. The arts and fashion event will fuse together sustainable materials merging contemporary urban culture with varying sewing and appliqué techniques. Asiko is a term in Yourba meaning fashionable and guests are encouraged to arrive in style! After the show, guests will have an opportunity to shop directly with a variety of local artists and artisans for the duration of the evening. In addition to shopping local, guests can enjoy music, photography, art, and curated cocktails. The VIP tickets will guarantee front row seating. General admission ticket holders will receive entry to the fashion event and a select quantity of seats will be provided on a first come basics. Once the seats have been filled, the rest of the guests will be standing to watch the show. The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture is a multi-disciplinary arts institution in the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1974 and named for Charlotte civic leader and former mayor Harvey Bernard Gantt, the Gantt Center’s mission is to present, preserve and celebrate excellence in the art, history and culture of African-Americans and those of African descent.
