Seeking musicians for casual musical get-togethers

Description
Seeking to find/put together a small-ish group of musician friends to get together and play some music. I sing and play keys (mostly chords/comping), and I can play a mean tambourine. :P I've already connected with a very cool bass player, and we're hoping to round things out with some percussion/drums, guitar/stringed instruments, etc. Up until a couple of years ago I used to front some local blues/soul bands, but I was burning out on gigging before the pandemic, and now as things open up I’m really just interested in finding other music makers who are more interested in fun, friendship, and connection than they are in performing. Open to anyone who might be interested, but please read the whole post to see if this is for you. My focus is first to connect as friends – I’ve been in bands where this wasn’t the case, and while it works for some, it just isn’t my style. I need to feel comfortable and connected with folx first in order to have fun and feel free to make good, collaborative music. For that reason, I’m hoping to find some people who are cut from the same cloth and who are hoping to find friendship through music. Yes, cut from the same cloth – kindred spirits, simpatico, like-minded, whatever you want to call it. People who are thoughtful, compassionate, considerate, emotionally intelligent, and good communicators (e.g. open and able to give and receive constructive feedback). A bit more about me: • Fully vaccinated (you need to be, too) • 40s cis-female • Partnered – looking for friends only • Progressive, anti-racist atheist • I would probably feel most comfortable connecting with female-identified and non-binary folx, but so long as you’re good people, all are welcome • Smokes weed on the regular • More than a bit of a hermit • I can be a bit shy/awkward/anxious and slow to open up right away, but I’m good times once I’m comfortable. HSP INFJ • Interested in all sorts of music – blues, soul, jazz, funk, folk, singer-songwriter, classic rock, etc. I love singing harmonies and playing around with interesting covers of songs. • If I'm being honest, I'm definitely wanting to focus on music that I really connect with and enjoy - while I can appreciate some punk, alt-country, EDM, super indie bands, etc., we're probably not a good fit if that's where your focus is. • Since connecting with the bass player, we've decided to play around with some songs from Queen, Aimee Mann, The Pretenders, Gnarls Barkley, and Heart. Random and fun, and we're happy to add more! • Some other artists I particularly love are: Brandi Carlile, Patty Griffin, Eva Cassidy, Wailin’ Jennys, Nina Simone, Lizz Wright, Yola, Sara Bareilles, Susan Tedeschi, Sharon Jones, Carole King, Lake Street Dive, etc. If this is your taste in music, let me know! • I’m not a songwriter myself, but with the right people and some patience I might be able to contribute. Otherwise, happy to just do covers. • I can host at my (very small) White Center home for small groups inside or outside, but would be happy to travel elsewhere if someone has a better space. • I’ve noticed (and even replied to) other similar posts on CL, but decided to post my own in order to hone in on what I’m looking for a bit more specifically. Thanks for reading the whole post, and I’m really looking forward to hearing from some people who feel they may be a good fit!
