PORT WASHINGTON, NY — In-person programs and activities are back at Port Washington Public Library. Patch has compiled a list of kid-friendly events that are on tap for August. Story Time in the Garden When: Aug. 10, 10 - 10:30 a.m.Description: Join your favorite librarians in the Children's Garden for stories, songs, and fingerplays. Limited capacity, registration required. Click the title above to register.Stop Motion Animation When: Aug. 12, 3 - 3:45 p.m.Description: Make inanimate objects come to life through the power of stop motion! Create stop motion animation simply by using one of the library's iPads and a bit of creativity. For children entering grades 3 to 6 in the fall. Limited capacity, registration required. Click the title above to register.'Terrace Band Hoot!' Rocks Lower Main Street When: Aug. 12, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.Description: Based on the success of the local 'Port Outdoors Dine & Shop' events, lower Main Street in Port Washington will be closed once again on Thursday, August 12th. PWPL's resident musicologist and Media Librarian Tony Traguardo will once again take advantage of this opportunity by leading a band of local musicians in a rocking live concert event! Dancing (in the street!) is highly encouraged. PLEASE NOTE: Even though the Library will be open, patrons will NOT be permitted access to the Terrace after 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 12th.Park Story Time When: Aug. 13, 10 - 10:30 a.m.Description: Join your favorite librarians at Blumenfeld Park (across the street from the library) for Park Story Time! No registration required. This will take place LIVE on the library's terrace.
